With its booming economy and the world's biggest population, China, like other rapidly industrializing countries, is now facing serious environmental issues: growing consumption of natural resources, disappearing plant and animal species, worsening air and water pollution, increasing quantities of solid wastes, reducing water supplies, and higher frequencies of droughts and floods.

These serious problems have to be tackled on many different levels, and every Chinese citizen must help to protect China¡¯s environment. Through our actions and lifestyles, we can make a difference!

One¡¯s environmnental impact can be greatly reduced through thoughtful living. That¡¯s why Green Choice (Beijing) offers a collection of tips for turning environmental ideas into environmental action. This site is packed with helpful, practical suggestions as well as heaps of facts, figures and links to information on how to protect the environment and live a healthier life.

We hope that you will find the information and the tips on this site useful. Do pass your newly gained knowledge on to others, making them aware, too. Let's all make green choices! (Please give us feedback.)

In China, as worldwide excessive plastic bag use has become a serious environmental problem (click here for more information), which the Green Choice team, gearing up with an initiative called University Cooperative Action (UCA) has now chosen to tackle. We will announce more detailed news shortly, stay tuned...
